About

Dr. Kristy Carangi

I work with both couples and individuals, as well as children and adolescents. Therapy focus may include relationship conflict, anxiety control, satisfaction in both your personal life and work, focus and motivation, and building a sense of "feeling whole" or "complete." I've helped countless clients move from a place of feeling stuck and dissatisfied, to one of happiness and flourishing. I also offer specialized care to transgender and questioning clients, including transition-related counseling. My work with clients is holistic, meaning we take a look at the whole life. I use an emotion-focused approach that works toward building confidence, trust, and self-esteem. Collaboratively, we'll aim to explore what is useful in your life and what is keeping you stuck, so that you can find a healthy path forward. People who choose counseling usually have one thing in common: they want things to be better. We don’t always know exactly what this means, and that's okay to get started. Therapy can help you with emotional regulation, satisfaction in your relationships, work performance, and much more. Please reach out if you have any questions about the process or goals. In addition to being a licensed mental health counselor associate in Washington (#MC61272232), I am an adjunct faculty member at Antioch University Seattle, where I teach graduate courses preparing counselors to meet the needs of transgender clients and supervise new student therapists. You can read my latest publication here: https://aura.antioch.edu/etds/965/ I value genuineness, creativity, and humor in session. Healing can be lots of fun!
